On the longer Cambridge Examination Courses students follow the General English programme in the mornings (20 lessons / 15 hours per week) and join a special exam focus group in the afternoons (10 lessons / 7½ hours per week).
On the shorter courses at FCE and CAE levels there is a special morning General English programme to give students an overview of the language appropriate for their examinations. In the afternoons students join the exam focus group.

On the following long Cambridge examination courses students follow the General English programme in the mornings (20 lessons/15 hours per week) and join a special exam focus group in the afternoons (10 lessons/7.5 hours a week). On the new, short 4-week courses students will have an intensive General English language programme in the mornings at the appropriate level and will join an exam focus group in the afternoons. Students applying for a 4-week course will be asked to complete a barrier test.

On these examination courses students follow the General English programme in the mornings (20 lessons/15 hours per week) and join a special exam focus group in the afternoons (8 lessons/6 hours per week). Courses run for 4 weeks immediately prior to the examinations which will be on:
There is a supplementary charge of £60 to cover all KET/PET examination fees, which is paid at the school.
IELTS and TOEIC preparation continue throughout the year in afternoon option lessons. Students are entered for IELTS on a monthly basis through Liverpool University. TOEIC is taken on a monthly basis at English in Chester on Saturdays as follows:

Students have to pay a fee of £70 for a TOEIC test and score report or £80 for the test, score report and certificate. The IELTS exam fee is approximately £100. These exam fees are paid at the school.
Please note, on our courses there will be no lessons on public holidays: Friday 21 March, Monday 24 March, Monday 5 May, Monday 26 May and Monday 25 August.
