22 May 2009: Different ways of using GET

Well, here in Chester things are happening all the time. The main office is being re-decorated and the computer room is having extra software added so it can double up as a language lab, so when you come in the summer everything will look so smart you will hardly recognise the place. All the summer teachers are looking forward to returning and there are lots of new teachers too so we hope that the summer will be busy and enjoyable.

I was thinking the other day about the word GET and all the different meanings it has in English so it might be an idea to look at some of them today. It is the kind of word you will see and hear everywhere and it can mean so many different things.

Monday is a bank holiday here in Britain but it is raining at the moment so I expect everyone would prefer to be at school. Hope the weather is better where you are. You know the saying in English: "Make hay while the sun shines". That is very true because the sun doesn't seem to be shining very much at the moment.

Love from everyone a English in Chester
