12 June 2009: Sentence Completion

The new office us looking wonderful and so tidy that you wouldn't recognise it. Mathew is taking 16 lucky students for a weekend to Edinburgh and I am sure they will have a marvellous time. I'll tell you next time how they got on.

Summer is rapidly approaching and the school is getting busier again but the weather has been awful this week so no barbeques yet.

Let's do some sentence matching this week. The first exercise is lower level and the second exercise is higher level.

Exercise 1
Complete the sentences below.
She won't pass the exam
I think I'll go on holiday
Tom promised to write to her
Don't forget to give me your phone number
Paolo will be really happy
I wouldn't buy that car
He goes to the same restaurant
Are you going to Spain
If you went to bed earlier
Of course I will lend you some money
Exercise 2
Complete the sentences below.
I really wish
Why on earth
If I were you
Peter regrets
What would you have done
No sooner had the game started
I know he will do well
John goes to the cinema
Nowhere but in England
I would never have asked him to stay

The word to remember this week is outrageous as it Mathew said it was outrageous that Real Madrid paid £80 million for Ronaldo and nobody thought he was worth that much.

Enjoy the summer if you are having one.
Love from everyone at English in Chester!
