17 August 2007: Word Building Part 2

What's happening at English in Chester?

Well, we are still quite busy, the pub tours are going strong and more than fifty people went to the barbeque last night. There was a very popular trip to see Manchester United being beaten by Inter Milan and everyone was pleased to see that there was a message for all the students from Chester up on the screen.

Andy finishes at the end of the month and is being replaced by Leander, who some of you will already have met as she has been in the office since early July. Stephanie, who has been working on the excursions programme this summer, returns to Switzerland this week but Angela will be with us until Christmas.

It is time to look at word building again. There's lots to practise this week so we've split it into two lessons.

This is the second lesson - try the first lesson!

Exercise 1
Match one of the following prefixes with the following words: over, self or ultra.
  -taught
  eaten
  -modern
  -centred

There are staff just standing around not doing anything in that office. Are they just lazy or do you think the company is   ?
It's easy. Just follow the diagram and the rest is   .

Many people    the value of their houses and are very disappointed when they are told the real value.

Plenty of new words to remember this week!

Hope you are all well.
