On 4 April English in Chester sponsored a concert in Chester with all proceeds going to Voluntary Service Overseas. Over 100 people, including students, staff, host families and friends enjoyed an evening of “Melody, Mirth and Mischief” with Anthony John Clarke. Anthony John, from Ireland via Liverpool, has been a popular folk singer for nearly 25 years and really entertained a very enthusiastic audience. As a result of the concert the Cheshire VSO group are able to support a volunteer overseas for a year. Thanks to everyone for their support!
For the last year English in Chester have been working closely with trusted colleagues around the country, sharing ideas and working together to improve the quality of service we provide for our clients. We are still independent and will continue to be so. We feel, however, that working with like-minded professionals and schools that we would recommend in England will be to the advantage of our students and clients.
