A regatta is a sporting event consisting of a series of boat or yacht races. Established in 1733, Chester Regatta is the oldest regatta in the world. Records show rowing in Chester for more than a millennium. In 973AD King Edgar visited Chester following his coronation in Bath and was rowed on the River Dee by the “eight kings of Britain”.

The group meet to share problems, generate solutions and learn how to cope well and thrive in a complicated and stressful world. The group is facilitated by David Yardley, a community learning tutor and Colette Jones, a mentor from the local community. The group is open to all and free to drop-in.

Robinsons Brewery is a family-run brewery, founded in 1849 at the Unicorn Inn in Stockport. The company owns around 250 public houses, mostly in the North West.

Your guide will educate and entertain you on your journey around the brewery. The Brewery Tour includes 3 1/3 pint samples of beers. You might even have the opportunity to meet the Robinsons Shire horses. After the tour, you can buy yourself lunch onsite.

Chester Racecourse, also known as the Roodee, the oldest racecourse still in use in England. Horse racing at Chester dates back to the early 16th century. Enjoy the Summer Saturday event this weekend. First race is at 14:10 and the last race of the day is at 17:30.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day at the gate from £12. See the racecourse website for more information and to book tickets. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult.
